IPB University, through the Directorate of Education Administration (Dit AP), organized an art performance event as part of the farewell for participants of the third year of the Merdeka Student Exchange (PMM). This event was held at Graha Widya Wisuda (GWW), IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor on 17/12.

The chairperson of the event, Rizki Fadlika, expressed that this event is an art performance with the aim to showcase the cultural and traditional richness of the archipelago. Through the art presented, the event serves as an effective medium to introduce cultural diversity.

“This celebration is a mix of happiness and sadness as it marks the end of our journey at IPB University. With dedication and hard work, we have tried our best to organize this event. Although it is a farewell, we hope that the memories created will continue to bring joy and inspiration in the days to come,” he expressed.

The coordinator of PMM at IPB University, Dr Nurhayati, stated that the program was participated and enlivened by a total of 193 students, consisting of 145 undergraduate and 48 vocational students, who come from outside Java island. For one entire semester, PMM students have taken 232 course options as part of the PMM Program.

“The courses involve the Nusantara module that delves into aspects of diversity, reflection, and social contribution. In their academic journey, PMM students receive guidance from the Nusantara module lecturers, ensuring deep understanding and application of the material,” she explained.

She also added that, throughout the learning process at IPB University, PMM students always adhere to the rules and regulations within the IPB University campus environment.

“The hope is that this program could bring benefits to the participants as well as enhance the reputation of IPB University. The success of PMM students in this third year is expected to bring the institution’s name to a higher level of excellence in the national educational arena,” she added.

The Vice Rector of IPB University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof Deni Noviana, mentioned that the high participation of PMM students in this event is considered a source of pride as many students have chosen their academic path at IPB University.

“All of this is seen as an extraordinary step and marks the beginning of an academic journey that has a positive impact and shapes individual students who consistently contribute. Through this activity, I hope the students’ insights will continue to develop,” said Prof Deni. (dr/Lp) (IAAS/ZRT)
