Equipping PPI Students Related to HSE, SPs IPB University Holds Field Study to PT Nusantara Regas
The Professional Engineer Program (PPI) of the Graduate School (SPs) of IPB University held a field study at PT Nusantara Regas to learn about safety, health, work, and environment (HSE) in Muara Karang, North Jakarta (9/12). The activity was also accompanied by Prof Iskandar Z Siregar and Dr Andes Ismayana as PPI lecturers.
“Thank you to PT Nusantara Regas for allowing PPI to visit the existing facilities. One of the things that PPI students must have is how to create a safe, healthy, and comfortable work atmosphere for workers,” said Dr Andes Ismayana.
Dr Andes added that this activity is a means for students to support learning the application of ethical, professional, and HSE principles. The goal is for students to gain learning experience related to HSE, especially in the industrial field at PT Nusantara Regas, so that PPI students can find out more details about the application of HSE according to standard operational standards (POB).
“In addition, we also want to know the application of ethics and professionalism of companies that have implemented trustworthy, competent, harmonious, adaptive, and collaborative values (AKHLAK) which can add insight to PPI students,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Head of Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Department of PT Nusantara Regas, Erwin Jonathan, SKM, MM said that this company is a subsidiary of a state-owned enterprise (BUMN) from a joint venture between PT Pertamina and PT Perusahaan Gas Negara.
“PT Nusantara Regas is a national vital object that has a very important impact in the event of a disruption. It operates 24 hours, supplies gas to PT PLN and approximately 75 percent of Jakarta’s electricity needs are supplied from here including the state palace and the DPR/MPR building,” he said.
He added that the vision of PT Nusantara Regas is to become a world-class company in the field of natural gas supply and its mission is to provide natural gas to meet and satisfy customer needs and create added value for stakeholders. PT Nusantara Regas is the first regasification company in Indonesia, the second in Asia, and the twelfth in the world.
“Currently we have obtained ISO 9001: 2015 certificate regarding quality management system, ISO 14001: 2015 regarding environmental management system, ISO 45001: 2018 regarding occupational health and safety management system, and ISO 37001: 2016 regarding anti-bribery management system,” said Erwin Jonathan who is also a student of PPI SPs IPB University.
