The Alumni Association of the Faculty of Agriculture (IKA Faperta) at IPB University held a Studium Generale event, providing scholarships and certified internship opportunities
The Alumni Association of the Faculty of Agriculture (IKA Faperta) at IPB University held the Studium Generale 2023 event at Lecture Room OFAC 4B11, Dramaga Campus (5/11). The event aimed to provide guidance to active Faperta students in preparing for their post-campus life.
With the theme ‘Career Planning: Getting Fit for Today, Ready for Tomorrow,’ the event also outlined the flagship programs of IKA Faperta that can support students’ skills and careers during their studies.
Octen Suhadi, SP, MM, the Chairman of IKA Faperta IPB University, expressed support for Faperta students through the prepared programs. “IKA Faperta has the Single Tuition Fee Scholarship (UKT) program and the Foster Parent Movement (GOTA), which are specifically intended for active Faperta students. Approximately 1.8 billion rupiahs have been distributed since the launch of this program,” he said.
In addition to the scholarship program, IKA Faperta IPB University is committed to encouraging Faperta students to enhance their self-capacity through the ‘Upgrading Self Value’ activities. On this occasion, IKA Faperta collaborated with Fitriyah Desriyanti, SKPm, Human Resource Business Partner at PT Equator Global International, to provide strategies and tips for facing post-campus life.
“To prepare for the workforce, the first thing to understand is to know one’s interests and skills. Then, observe the requirements and companies targeted, create an attractive CV, prepare mentally and psychologically, and regularly practice interview simulations,” she said.
Through the Studium Generale event, IKA Faperta IPB University also introduced a certified internship program in collaboration with partners. The focus areas include agriculture, plantation researchers, landscaping, project development, and banking.
“This year, IKA Faperta has successfully guided 27 top Faperta IPB University students to participate in the internship program,” said Ainun Fiki, a member of IKA Faperta.
These students are placed at various locations such as PTPN III Holding Nusantara Plantation (7 students), PT Bumitama Gunajaya Agro (2 students), PT Cisarua Mountain Dairy/Cimory (3 students), PT Paramount Enterprise International (2 students), PT Melrimba Sentra Agrotama (3 students), and Sadifa Farm (10 students).
Dewi Anne Andhida, the Chairperson of the Scholarship, Academic, and Student Affairs Bureau at IKA Faperta IPB University, stated that they will continue to encourage students and remain committed to increasing the number of beneficiaries and partners in the certified internship program.
