Students of the Department of SKPM IPB University Successfully Organised the Development Communication Festival 2023

The Department of Communication Science and Community Development (SKPM), Faculty of Human Ecology (Fema) IPB University successfully held the Development Communication Festival (Devcomfest) with the theme “The Role of Communication to Build the Best Generation in Development Era” on 26/11 at the Innovation Park, IPB Dramaga Campus.

The theme illustrates the critical role of communication in shaping the best generation in the development era. The festival became a creative event for students to showcase their final projects during the course.

Dr Amiruddin Saleh, as one of the lecturers of the Communication and Extension Division of the SKPM Department, as well as the coordinator of the Broadcast Media and Digital Communication Course, on the occasion opened the Devcomfest 2023 event.

“This course is not only theoretical but also practised according to the needs of the community. Through this event, I hope students can see society not only as the object of development but also the subject of development,” said Dr Amir.

Dr Dwi Retno Hapsari, as the coordinator of the Business Communication course, also hopes that students can enjoy the festival to the fullest.

“Devcomfest 2023 reflects SKPM and Fema’s commitment to bringing theory and practice together, creating an environment where students can apply their knowledge to meet the needs of society,” she said.

The festival was enlivened by hundreds of visitors who came to watch together the work and products offered by the students, in the form of role play performances, exhibition practices and sales of fostered MSME products, as well as the display of work in the form of advertising videos for fostered MSME products.

The festival also presented an expo area as a place for students to sell MSME products fostered by each group. (JMV/Lp) (IAAS/RUM)
