Lecturer from the Faculty of Animal Sciences at IPB University Taches Business Concepts to Students of Al-Islam Islamic Boarding School
The participants of the Freedom of Learning – Independence Campus (MBKM) of the Sociopreneur One Village Once CEO (OVOC) program carried out the second phase of the Coaching and Technology Transfer for the Development of Meat Goat Commodities at Al-Islam Islamic Boarding School in Tabalong Regency, South Kalimantan, on 20/11.
The Al-Islam Islamic Boarding School in Kambitin Village is still very limited in terms of cultivating goat commodities, as the maun commodity in the village is rubber. However, there is still a significant potential for Al-Islam Islamic Boarding School to develop goat farming through community farming efforts.
Lecturer and faculty member of the Faculty of Animal Sciences at IPB University, Bramada Winiar Putra, encourages students to engage in the goat commodities business by collecting 50 thousand rupiahs within a week with a group of 20 people.
“With the available capital, they can produce goats by seeking superior breeding stock. Even though the goats purchased are still small in size, they can be collectively raised until they produce offsprings,” he explained.
He continued that the students are not only limited to breeding animals, but also have the opportunity to open a business by processing goat manure into fertilizer, which becomes one of the benefits for the students at Al-Islam Islamic Boarding School.
“The activities carried out by students from IPB University have a very positive impact, to the extent that it attracts expert lecturers from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry at IPB University,” said Hanafi, the Chairman of the Al-Islam Islamic Boarding School Working Group.
He stated that a lot of knowledge can be gained, especially regarding managing livestock business enterprises for Al-Islam Islamic Boarding School, and it provides motivation for the students to build entrepreneurial ventures. (*/Lp) (/IAAS/ZRT)
