IPB University students who are members of the Freedom of Learning – Independence Campus (MBKM) Sociopreneur One Village One CEO (OVOC) activity at the Al-Islam Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes), South Kalimantan carried out mentoring and technology transfer for goat commodities.

One of the assistance carried out is related to the financial recording of farming businesses at Al-Islam Islamic Boarding School. IPB University’s OVOC team facilitated the application of the SI APIK application or the Financial Information Recording Application Information System in the preparation of the Pesantren Business Management Agency (BPUP) financial report.

IPB University experts who participated in this activity were Farida Ratna Dewi, SE, MM, lecturer at the Department of Management, Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM).

This mentoring was attended by 39 students of grade 3 Madrasah Aliyah, members of BPUP, Working Group (Pokja) of livestock commodities, IPB University students, and the Program Adaro Santri Sejahtera (PASS) team.

In the explanation of the material, Farida Ratna Dewi expressed her views on BPUP’s financial records at Al-Islam Islamic Boarding School. According to her, SI APIK has a very positive impact on the business activities of business actors in preparing financial reports.

“The application launched by Bank Indonesia aims to make it easier for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to record financial reports online with a single entry model, even though they lack understanding of accounting,” she said.

Goat and fishery commodities are business ventures in Al-Islam Islamic Boarding School. In fishery commodities, fish production is mostly used for self-consumption, while goat commodities are mostly sold out, especially for aqiqah needs.

“Financial recording on these commodities will be very useful to tidy up the data collection of expenses and income, so as to avoid selling goats at inappropriate prices or at a loss,” she explained.

BPUP members who manage goat and tilapia businesses do not all have a background in accounting and management. On the other hand, hiring an expert accountant is not financially feasible.

“The mentoring activity using the SI APIK application by IPB University lecturers can help direct the BPUP’s financial records at Ponpes Al-Islam. This has become knowledge for us in conducting financial records in order to organize every income and expenditure from sales”, said Maimunah as BPUP Treasurer. (*/Rz) (IAAS/ANF)
