Improving Students’ Numeracy Literacy, IPB University Students Create Agile Learners Go Digital
IPB University students who are members of the Community Service Student Creativity Program (PKM-PM) team called Algodigi, created an interactive learning program to improve Numeracy Literacy. This program is called Agile Learners Go Digital.
This program is implemented using the Scratch-based Learning method by integrating five subprograms as an effort to significantly increase students’ numeracy literacy. The activity lasted for three months, starting from July to September at SDN Cihideung Ilir 04, Bogor Regency.
Rozak, one of the PKM team members, said that the average length of time students study at school is only 4 to 5 hours. The rest of the time, students spend their time outside of school, this is where parents need to be involved.
“Therefore, we are collaborating with parents during the implementation of the program so that students can understand the material we provide more optimally, as well as helping us monitor student activities,” said Rozak.
He continued, parents of students, who are then called AlgoParents, will be given a parenting checklist containing what activities their children do outside of school. This also aims to provide awareness to parents in raising children in the digital era.
“The program closed with a closing ceremony entitled ‘Algodigi’s Endless Journey’ has been started. “Along with this closing, Numeracy Literacy Miniatures and Numeracy Literacy Pop Up Books were also provided as teaching materials that can be used sustainably by program partners and targets,” said Rozak.
