Students from Around the World Meet in Aquaculture Student Conference IPB University
The Aquaculture Student Association (Himakua) FPIK IPB University through the Aquaculture Festival 2023 succeeded in bringing together students from various parts of the world in the Aquaculture Student Conference (ASC).
The Aquaculture Student Conference consists of a series of webinar activities, Group Discussions and conferences which were held in a hybrid manner on 11/10 at America Mall Pacific Place. The conference theme was “Creative and Innovative as the Character of Generation Z in Developing Future Aquaculture”.
“The important role of the younger generation (students) in realizing sustainable aquaculture is the basis for this activity. Through the thoughts of the younger generation in the field of aquaculture, it is hoped that they will be able to find solutions to problems that occur in the home countries of the ASC delegates,” said Himakua Chairman, Mouhane Zidan Nafis.
He continued, through this ASC activity the delegates can exchange views as well as add insight related to aquaculture issues in various countries, establish interactions with aquaculture students from various countries, and increase self-confidence and ability to speak in English (public speaking).
“ASC is expected to be a forum for aquaculture students around the world to convey their aspirations as a young generation in the development of aquaculture in various countries,” he said.
A total of 36 delegates discussed several representative topics with different country backgrounds, including Indonesia, USA, India, China, Ecuador, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan and the Philippines. (*/Lp) (IAAS/ASB)
