Strengthening Vocational Education, IPB University Establishes Collaboration with Jeju Provincial Education Agency, South Korea
IPB University signed a cooperation contract with the Jeju Provincial Education Agency, South Korea. The cooperation focuses on strengthening vocational education. The signing was conducted at IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor (3/10).
The Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria in his speech said, IPB University is always interested in collaborating with various institutions from South Korea. Currently, IPB University has more than 30 active memorandum of understanding (MoU) and memorandum of agreement (MoA) with several South Korean companies. IPB University has also tied cooperation with more than 12 universities in South Korea.
“This collaboration is also in line with the great momentum of the partnership between Indonesia and South Korea, where currently we are also celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and South Korea,” he said.
Furthermore, Prof Arif is committed to expanding the reputation of IPB University on a global scale by strengthening the ecosystem of education, research programs, and community service.
IPB University has several study programs that are ready to accept international students. In addition, IPB University and Jeju Provincial Education Agency have the same vision and perspective on the importance of vocational education.
“For this reason, we hope that IPB University and Jeju Provincial Education Agency can partner with each other in this sector, especially through vocational education. We believe this cooperation can contribute to supporting the progress of the education sector and can have an impact on the global community,” he explained.
Chairman of the Jeju Provincial Education Agency, South Korea, Mr Kim Gwang Soo said, this cooperation would be an important momentum for both countries, Indonesia and South Korea, especially in the field of education. According to him, IPB University is well known for its achievements in academic competence, leadership, research in the subtropical agricultural sector to marine and fisheries science.
“We want to improve the quality of education in South Korea through a cooperative relationship with IPB University. This cooperation is expected to be a place to share knowledge and experience, especially through student exchange programs and academic fields of education,” concluded Mr Kim Gwang Soo.
