The Center for Human Resources Development (P2SDM) at IPB University, in collaboration with the Indonesian Muslim Intellectual Association (ICMI) Orwilsus Bogor, organized the National Leadership Camp (NLC) Batch 1. The purpose of this event is to enhance the leadership capabilities of ICMI executives. The first session (1/10) was held at the IPB Baranangsiang Campus in Bogor.

Warcito, the Secretary of P2SDM IPB University, emphasized that ICMI, as a part of the nation, must be involved and prepared to face contemporary challenges such as food crises, climate crises, and the digital revolution.

“NLC serves as a platform for consolidating and coordinating the ICMI leadership. After NLC, we hope that the ICMI organization’s performance will improve and demonstrate high quality in carrying out meaningful intellectual tasks for the progress and civilization of the community, nation, and advancing country,” said Warcito, who also chaired the event.

In a similar vein, Dr Aceng Hidayat, the Chairman of ICMI Orwilsus Bogor, emphasized the importance of conducting this activity separately. “NLC aims to enhance participants’ understanding of ICMI’s covenant within the framework of Islam and Indonesian nationalism, affirming knowledge and technology (science and technology) and faith and piety (imtaq) as ICMI’s directions, as well as ICMI’s current and future strategies and tactics,” said the man who also serves as the Dean of the Vocational School at IPB University.

Furthermore, NLC also trains participants in developing Islamic management and leadership models amidst disruption and global challenges. “We hope that the leadership materials and discussions related to current conditions can be used as discussion topics in this NLC. Participants will receive input from experts in their fields,” added Dr Aceng.

This NLC activity is attended by participants from the leadership ranks of Orwilsus Bogor, Orda, and Orsat throughout the Bogor Raya area, as well as Autonomous Bodies such as Alissa Khadijah and ICMI Youth.

Participants will be assigned tasks to dissect cases in each session, which will then be discussed in subsequent sessions. This is done to ensure that participants can immediately implement the material by analyzing related cases, thus making them more sensitive, critical, and solution-oriented in addressing evolving issues.

“We will give assignments in each session, and they will be discussed in the following sessions. These assignments are descriptive, narrative, and collaborative among participants,” explained Warcito. (*/Rz) (IAAS/Hap)
