IPB University Vocational School Students Invite Middle School Students to Do Air Conservation with Mother-in-Law’s Tongue Plants
IPB University Vocational School (SV) students from the Environmental Engineering and Management Study Program (Prodi), held community service activities as a form of assignment for the Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation course at SMPN 8 Bogor City.
The community service activity carries the theme “Air Conservation and Sansevieria Plant Conservation”. The Sansevieria plant, which people call the “mother-in-law’s tongue” plant, was the topic of discussion brought by students, because Sansevieria has the advantage that its leaves absorb more air pollution due to its high stomata density.
“The material contains general knowledge about the importance of conservation principles in everyday life. “The material not only refers to general knowledge, but also takes examples from the cartoon series “Avatar” and the tokusatsu “Ultraman Gaia” so that students understand more about the material presented,” said Desylia Sukma Widyani Setyaningsih, Environmental Engineering and Management student.
Apart from presenting the material, students were also invited to plant plants using used gallons and planting media. (*/Lp) (IAAS/Res)
