This event was presented by speaker Prof Masaru Mizoguchi from the Laboratory of International Agro-Informatics, Department of Global Agricultural Sciences, The University of Tokyo Japan.

“With Field Monitoring System (FMS) technology, it will make it easier to manage agriculture remotely wherever we are by utilizing IoT,” said Prof Mizoguchi when delivering his presentation at the IPB Dramaga Campus.

The material presented is a collection of research results carried out, including the results of collaboration with the SIL Department of IPB University since 2008. This collaboration took the form of developing a monitoring system, especially for cultivation using the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) method.

“This collaboration with The University of Tokyo has been carried out continuously since the SIL IPB University Department was born in 2008 with various research schemes,” said Dr Chusnul Arif, SIL IPB University lecturer who hosted this event.

This event was attended by around 90 students of the SIL IPB University Study Program, both undergraduate and master’s programs. On this occasion, students actively asked questions regarding the monitoring system application being developed, including the obstacles encountered in the field.
