Strengthening One Health System, IPB University Prepares Facilitators
IPB University’s Global Health Agromaritime and One Health Collaborating Center (GHA-OHCC) organized the Training of Trainers One Health Systems Mapping and Analysis Resource Toolkit (ToT OH-Smart) for lecturers, (4-5/9). The activity was held at the IPB International Convention Center, Bogor.
The training was attended by lecturers from the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Forestry and Environment (Fahutan), and Faculty of Medicine of IPB University. The main objective of the implementation of this OH-Smart ToT is to form and prepare facilitators within IPB University who have the competence to initiate OH-Smart workshops to stakeholders as a strategic step in strengthening the one health system locally.
This activity was organized in collaboration with the One Health Workforce-Next Generation (OHW-NG) project run by the Indonesia One Health University Network (Indohun) which is part of the Southeast Asia One Health University (Seaohun) network. The project is also supported by the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemdikbud) and funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The facilitators who provided training to the OH-Smart ToT participants were Prof dr Ni Nyoman Sri Budayanti (OHCC Coordinator, Udayana University), drh Rama Prima Syahti Fauzi, MSi (Outbreak Control Coordinator, Ministry of Human Development and Culture) and drh Syafrison Idris, MSi (Animal Disease Observation Coordinator, Directorate of Animal Health, Ministry of Agriculture).
“This training adds to our insight, especially on how we can collaborate and work together in solving a problem. Of course, OH-Smart is very flexible and can be used in various types of problems. Hopefully in the future we as lecturers can bring this OH-Smart to students at IPB University,” said one of the participants from Fahutan IPB University. (*/Rz) (IAAS/ANS)
