The Ruminant Interest Profession Student Association (Himpro Ruminant), School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SKHB) IPB University again held a national level competition, Ruminant Art Competition (RAC) 2023. With the support of Sintesia Animalia Indonesia, RAC 2023 is open for two types of competitions, namely essays and infographics. The theme is ‘Livestock Welfare in Entrepreneurship and Veterinary Professional Careers’.

The Chief of RAC 2023, Fawwazaki Ananda, hopes that Ruminers, as the members of Himpro Ruminantia are called, will have the entrepreneurial spirit to build a livestock business while still paying attention to animal welfare.

The echo of RAC 2023 is quite extensive, reaching veterinary students throughout Indonesia. Participants came from Gadjah Mada University, Syiah Kuala University, Malang State University, Hasanuddin University, Brawijaya University, Wijaya Kusuma University Surabaya, and UPN Veteran East Java. IPB University as the host sent the most essays or infographics, reaching 75 percent of the participants.

Tengku Zylviana, a student of IPB University managed to come out as the winner of the essay branch. Tengku won first place in the essay branch followed by Fajri Dwitama (Syiah Kuala University) as second place and Jekki Marison S (IPB University) as third place. In the infographic competition, the winners were Aryo Kurnia Ramadhan (1st place), Ilham Putra Susanto (2nd place), and Regan Juana Rizki (3rd place). All three infographic winners were from IPB University.

“Along with this, we would also like to express our gratitude to Dr drh Kusdiantoro Mohamad as the supervisor of Himpro Ruminantia Ilham Raya, Chairman of Himpro Ruminantia and two delegates of Sintesia Animalia Indonesia, drh Deborah Bianti and drh Maria Maliga Vernandes Sasadara for their willingness as judges in this event,” said Fawwazaki.
