IPB University Collaborates with Two State Islamic Institutes (IAIN)
IPB University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with two State Islamic Institutes (IAIN), namely IAIN Palopo and IAIN Ambon. The signing ceremony was held in the Rector’s Conference Room, IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor (11/9).
In his speech, Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria welcomed the arrival of the group from IAIN Palopo as well as IAIN Ambon. “Hopefully this cooperation can make IPB University and IAIN mutually strengthen and support each other for education, research and service activities carried out in various regions,” said Prof Arif.
He added, IPB University will always open wide opportunities, both to students and lecturers of IAIN Palopo and IAIN Ambon to strengthen mutual collaboration.
The Rector of IAIN Palopo, Dr Abbas Langaji was grateful to have been received and welcomed at IPB University. He explained that IAIN Palopo fosters approximately 10 thousand students and 360 lecturers, some of whom are alumni of IPB University.
“We have brought four lecturers here who will carry out the Exchange Lecturer. Our arrival here is also because we believe the management at IPB University is extraordinary. Today is the beginning of hope to be able to work together better, especially in the field of human resource development,” he said.
He hopes that his students will be given the opportunity to join the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) programme at IPB University and will try to bring IPB University lecturers to IAIN Palopo in the Exchange Lecturer programme.
Meanwhile, the Rector of IAIN Ambon, Prof Zainal Abidin Rahawarin was grateful to be able to establish cooperation with IPB University. IAIN Ambon already has several maritime study programmes and hopes that IAIN Ambon can soon transform into a State Islamic University (UIN).
“Our future strategic plan is maritime-based. For that, we chose IPB University because it has human resources who are experts in the maritime field, so I invite you to work on the plan,” he said.
Prof Dr Zainal continued, with the development of the maritime campus, it is hoped that IAIN Ambon can contribute to the local and central government. He hopes that the maritime sector can become a power base in the eastern region and become part of a large national project. (Lp/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
