Implementation of the MBKM Program, IPB University ESL Students Visit Bappenas
As many as 50 IPB University students from the Department of Resource and Environmental Economics (ESL), Faculty of Economics and Management had the opportunity to visit the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (Kementerian PPN/Bappenas) during the ESL Visit to Corporation event. This activity is one of the work programs of the Resource and Environmental Economics Student Association (REESA) of IPB University.
“The focus of our visit is the Deputy for Maritime Affairs and Natural Resources. This visit aims to provide more knowledge about the application of scientific lectures outside the campus and provide insight into internship opportunities and office tour experiences for students,” commented Danang Pramudita, SP, MSi, an accompanying lecturer who is also IPB University’s ESL Student Affairs Commission.
The visit of IPB University ESL students who were also accompanied by an education staff member, Arif Lesmana, S.Kom, was warmly welcomed by the Deputy for Maritime Affairs and Natural Resources, Dr. Vivi Yulaswati. In his remarks, she mentioned that the task of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas is to administer government affairs in the field of national development planning to assist the president in administering state administration.
Participants were given the opportunity to interact directly with officials and experts in five directorates in the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas. Each director explained the main tasks in each directorate and the programs currently being implemented. Students also get information about various internship programs available at the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas. Apart from being an implementation of Freedom of Learning – Independence Campus (MBKM), this internship program is expected to help students prepare themselves for the world of work after campus.
During the visit, the students were also invited on an office tour to explore offices and various directorates at the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas. They can see how daily activities are carried out, interact with dedicated staff and gain a better understanding of the organizational structure and work processes carried out.
“The ESL Visit to the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas event not only provides new insights for participants, but also strengthens relations between educational institutions and the government. “It is hoped that close collaboration between the two parties can encourage the development of the agricultural sector and create innovative solutions for future agricultural challenges,” said Danang.
