Ecology Corner Officially Opened, New Public Sphere at Fema IPB University
Faculty of Human Ecology (Fema) IPB University inaugurated Ecology Corner. This place is a new public space in Fema which is intended as a place for discussion and collaboration of the Fema academic community.
“This place can be used by students to exchange ideas. So, mentoring can be done here, discussions can be done here. In addition, there is also Ecology Coffee that can accompany the discussion time in this Ecology Corner,” said Dr Sofyan Sjaf, Dean of Fema IPB University. Ecology Coffee, he said, is a Supporting Business Unit of Fema which is in line with the target of IPB University to become a technosocio entrepreneur campus.
The inauguration of Ecology Corner was symbolically carried out by the Rector of IPB University Prof Arif Satria, Vice Rector for Resource Resilience and Infrastructure of IPB University, Dr Alim Setiawan, Chairman of the Fema Senate Prof Hardinsyah and Chairman of Agrianita Neno Arif Satria, by giving paint and signing on the Ecology Art Corner mural.
“Fema IPB University sets a good example by providing facilities for students to hang out in fun places. No less important, there are internet networks and power outlets to support student activities,” said Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria.
The event continued with Roasting Bang Dekan which was filled by one of IPB University students from the Department of Communication Science and Community Development (SKPM) and Fema doctoral students. This activity was followed by the distribution of 100 cups of coffee from Ecology Coffee.
The event was also attended by the Vice Deans of Fema, Dr Megawati Simanjuntak and Prof Dodik Briawan, Fema lecturers and education staff, as well as Fema multistrata students who enlivened the inauguration. The event was also filled with entertainment from the Fema academic community who enlivened this activity. In addition to entertainment, this event is expected to be a gathering place for the Fema academic community.
The inauguration of Ecology Corner can run smoothly because it is supported by the Fema community and Bank Syariah Indonesia. It is hoped that with this support Ecology Corner can be a useful place. (*/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
