All management to production facility operators of Teaching Industry Science Techno Park (STP) IPB University attended the Kick Off Meeting and ISO 22000 Training. The activity was carried out in the context of implementing activities to manage food safety management system certification based on ISO 22000 standards: 2018. The material was delivered by speakers from Premysis Consulting.

Chairperson of the Institute of Science and Technology Area (LKST) IPB University, Prof Erika B Laconi said, this training is one of the stages so that IPB University’s food-based innovation products are present in the community. The reason is, so far innovation products are difficult to be in the field because of the issue of distribution permits.

“This has become a national problem, so that our products are present nationally and even internationally, we will continue to follow all applicable regulatory processes,” she said at the opening of the event at the IPB International Convention Center Bogor, some time ago.

Prof Erika added, three brief but very important in the implementation of food safety management system certification management activities, namely the right quality, the right regulation and the right time.

“With the right quality, products will fulfill the provisions of halalan toyiban and can meet the needs for human health. Right regulation, how can the product be in accordance with applicable regulations, so that there is a distribution permit and the product is present in the community. Finally, on time, how we are able to meet customer needs in a timely manner,” she explained.

Prof Erika hopes that what is conveyed in this training will become a habit and human resources (HR) in the STP IPB University Teaching Industry production facility will carry out all existing regulations. “Make this a learning process towards tough entrepreneurs with products that have met all the requirements,” she added.

Prof Rokhani Hasbullah, Vice Chairman of LKST IPB University in the field of Business Incubators and Industrial Partnerships said, in addition to managing food safety management system certification, this activity was also an investment in human resources to ensure the continuity of production in production facilities in the Teaching Industry.

“Currently, the innovative products developed by LKST IPB University have also obtained trademarks, Indonesian National Standards (SNI) and will soon obtain halal Food and Drug Administration (BPOM) certification.
