Presenting Free Housing for Students, IPB University Rector Inaugurates Sigap Armada House
The commemoration of Indonesia’s Independence Day is a momentum to foster the spirit of nationalism and unity in the midst of cultural, ethnic and religious diversity. On this historic day, Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria inaugurated Rumah Sigap Armada (RSA). The inauguration of free housing for IPB University students was marked by the signing of the Inauguration Inscription of RSA Putra and Putri, (17/8).
”This dormitory program is complementary to support IPB University’s tagline, Inspiring Innovation with Integrity. Therefore, we put three main values as the basic values of RSA, namely Integrity, Respect and Tolerance,” said Bambang Sumaryanto as the person in charge of RSA in his speech.
Rumah Sigap Armada is a student dormitory initiated by IPB University alumni class 17 (Armada). Armada succeeded in raising funds from alumni and 3rd party donations, including from PT Perkebunan Negara (PTPN) III.
With the support of various parties, Armada can provide three shelters with a capacity of 46 people, one of which is for women (RSA2) with a capacity of 16 people. RSA 1 is located in Babakan Lebak, while RSA 2 and RSA 3 are located in the IPB Lecturer Housing Dramaga Campus.
“RSA’s vision is to become a forum that gives birth to intellectual figures who have social sensitivity and integrity as well as inspirers for their environment. Our missions include building character with integrity and confidence through mentoring and training, building communities and providing housing that is able to foster tolerance as well as collaboration and leadership skills, and exploring and honing potential through improving soft skills,” explained Bambang.
He stated that the RSA Dormitory is not only a residence, but also functions as a place to hone the potential of residents through informal education. In the dormitory, residents can learn and share knowledge with each other, improve life skills and develop personality. This symbolizes transformation and commitment in shaping an environment that supports growth and development.
“This inauguration is the starting point of a new journey full of hope, every action and decision taken has a common goal in encouraging residents to achieve higher achievements and achieve sustainable success in life. Thus, RSA is expected to be a positive and supportive environment for students to gain inspiration in exploring and honing their potential,” he said. (*/Rz) (IAAS/NVA)
