Preparing Independent Entrepreneurial Students, IPB University Holds Wirausaha Merdeka IPB 2023
IPB University has the opportunity to host the Wirausaha Merdeka (WMK) 2023 program. This activity is designed to improve students’ entrepreneurial skills including understanding, planning, analyzing, and evaluating business.
On that occasion, Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria revealed, this good opportunity must continue to be utilized by students to continue to be productive in various ways. According to him, everyone must be an excellent person to achieve everything he dreams of.
“Imaging says ourselves is great. However, reputation is when other people say we are great. Maintain that reputation with maximum self-defense,” he said.
Prof Arif added, being a student is a momentum to develop yourself starting from mindset development, competence to entrepreneurial spirit. “Be an opportunity creator, because there will be hope to become a winner. In creating opportunities it is not easy, because you must have motivation in providing benefits to others,” he said.
Director of Student Affairs of IPB University, Dr Ujang Suwarna said, this year students who participated in the WMK program came from 16 provinces and 39 universities. He said, a total of 400 students participated in this program and would be divided into 100 teams.
“Our target is to have at least 50 percent of the products. Hopefully in the future we can collaborate to build a business and a solid team,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Vice Rector of IPB University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Deni Noviana said, IPB University is always committed to creating a quality university.
“IPB University’s strategy in the field of education has five missions, namely quality education, global education, transdisciplinary education, transformative education and innovative education. For students there are five, talented students, outstanding students, entrepreneurial students, networked students and empowered students,” she said.
Prof Deni continued, the role of entrepreneurship in this case micro small medium enterprises (MSMEs) is divided into two phases, namely the reform period and the COVID-19 period. For him, the fundamental difference between the two phases lies in information and technology.
“Now there is no need to use outlets to sell, because there is already technology for digital platforms, so this is a form of transformation from many MSMEs to be able to continue to grow. My message is, take advantage of the funding opportunity as a step to develop and the resulting output can be carried out well,” he explained. (dr/Rz) (IAAS/NVA)
