Collaboration with PT Beam Mobility Indonesia, 200 Units of Electric Bicycles Present at IPB University

In order to achieve a green campus, IPB University signed a memorandum of understanding with PT Beam Mobility Indonesia, Tuesday (1/8) at Dramaga Campus, Bogor. From this collaboration, Beam electric bikes are now present at IPB University. At that moment, the Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria and the leadership also had the opportunity to test drive the Beam electric bicycle.
Ady Muzadi, Country Head of PT Beam Mobility Indonesia stated, “I would like to thank Beam Indonesia for being given the opportunity to operate and partner with IPB University which is one of the largest campuses in Indonesia,” he said.
He explained that Beam already operates in nine countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, Turkey and others. “The main goal of Beam is to reduce carbon emissions and become an alternative mode of transportation for various countries and cities. The presence of Beam at IPB University is expected to reduce emissions, create new jobs and of course can help improve the greenmetric rating of IPB University,” he explained.
Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria welcomed the arrival of PT Beam Mobility Indonesia at IPB University. “Welcome to IPB University and I hope this cooperation can go well because the business model is very interesting. In addition, students and lecturers can easily access this electric bike,” said Prof Arif.
He continued, with this collaboration all transportation at IPB University can also be more sophisticated and easy to monitor its movements, including easy payment.
“This electric bicycle transportation is a business model that fits perfectly with our green campus concept. Nowadays, many countries are using electric bicycles and can be used as an example for all of us, ”
He mentioned that in this first stage, there are 200 electric bikes that will be placed at IPB University. If it goes well, then the number will increase. Prof Arif also hopes that the heads of student executive bodies (BEM) can socialize these electric bikes to students.
“We must also be able to think further about green campus more holistically. IPB University has also provided facilities and devices for charging this electric bicycle so that it can be accessed easily and smoothly,” he said. (Lp/Rz) (IAAS/ANF)
