IPB University Real-Thematic Work Lecture (KKN-T) Innovation students provide education to the community, especially the children of Bonang Village, Rembang Regency, Central Java, to utilize waste waste into functional goods. The activity was located at Madrasah Diniyah Hidayatul Mubtadin, Bonang Village, Lasem District.
"This program aims to transfer the knowledge to children about waste while at the same time increasing their skills regarding how to properly process waste so that it can be used as functional goods," said Azizul Hakim, one of KKN-T Innovation students who is also a Coordinator of Bonang Village (Kordes).
Furthermore, it is hoped that through this program a lot of knowledge can be taken to be applied by children in the future in protecting the environment in a sustainable manner. This program was accompanied by Nadzirum Mubin, SP, MSi as an Associate Lecturer in the IPB University Innovation KKN-T Field as well as a Coordinating Lecturer in the Rembang Region.
"This program is targeted at madrasah students, because the level of effectiveness is greater through knowledge from their early age. This educational activity is in the form of brief material presentations on the meaning of waste, the impact of waste, types of waste and how to manage waste. Apart from that, there was also a demonstration of the utilization of waste into functional goods," said Azizul Hakim.
The activity was attended by all grade 4 and grade 5 Madrasah Diniyah Hidayatul Mubtadin students. IPB University students invite and accompany students to increase their creativity by making functional items from waste together. The functional product produced is a mini trash bin from used bottles. Through this demonstration, many students were interested and enthusiastic in creating these used bottles.
