The Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology (BEM Fateta) IPB University held the inaugural workshop on the Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program (PPK Ormawa). The community service activity, which will be carried out in Central Cibitung Village, Tenjolaya District, Bogor, West Java, is the PPK Ormawa BEM Fateta IPB University team carrying out the 'Dedikari Project' program.

Wahab Chayyi as the team leader explained that PPK Ormawa BEM Fateta was doing community service in Central Cibitung Village by bringing a climate village program oriented towards sustainable agriculture. This program is called the Dedikari Project, an acronym for a village that stands on its own feet.

"There are 4 major programs presented at the Dedikari Project, including MENTARI (Low Emission Tomato Planting), GENTARI (Movement Towards SRI Agriculture), R3SIK (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Organic Waste) and LESTARI (Education Steps and Low Emission Planting) . With the implementation of these programs, it is hoped that it will be able to create villages with low carbon emissions," said Wahab during a workshop at the Cibitung Tengah Village Office.

The workshop was attended by Robiati as the Secretary of the Village of Central Cibitung and village officials, RT/RW administrators, representatives from the CMS and Sumber Alam Makmur Farmers Groups, members of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK), youth organizations and the local community. Apart from that, this activity was also attended by Prof Arief Sabdo Yuwono as the supervisor and Head of BEM Fateta represented by M Syamsul Fazry.

"We are very enthusiastic and fully support all the programs that will be implemented. We hope that BEM Fateta IPB University can collaborate with environmental cadres and other IPB University student programs because they have a aligned program, namely reducing waste problems and increasing public awareness of the importance of protecting the environment," said Robiati in her remarks.

In the discussion session, Aziz as the head of RT 15/RW 05 conveyed a message that IPB University students would continue to monitor even though the activities had been carried out. He also hoped that the program presented would have continuity.

“People usually want to do it if there are students. If there are no students anymore, people often don't want to do it again," said Aziz.

This workshop activity ended with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation (MoU) signed by Robiati as the Village Secretary and Wahab Chayyi Fanani, head of the PPK Ormawa BEM Fateta IPB University team. (*/Rz) (IAAS/SHY)
