STP IPB University’s Startup Center Building is Ready to Accept Business Incubation Program Tenants

The Startup Center Building (GSC) of the Science and Technology Park Institute (LKST) of IPB University is now ready to accept tenants of the business incubation program. Located at IPB Taman Kencana Campus, the six-story building including the basement is intended for startup business incubation activities in developing their business.

Head of LKST IPB University, Prof Erika B Laconi explained, GSC consists of 32 business rooms for tenants, co-working space with a capacity of 50-70 people, meeting room and hall room with a capacity of 200 people. A total of 25 startups, most of which are IPB University alumni, have occupied GSC as inwall tenants.

“The existence of GSC complements one of the functions and services of the Science Techno Park (STP) IPB University, which is to develop competitive startups through business incubation programs,” she said.

She mentioned that the Business Incubator Division of LKST IPB University has been active in this building to prepare supporting facilities, compile incubation programs, select inwall tenant registration and start exploring business incubation program cooperation with various parties.

“In accordance with the chancellor’s direction, all facilities in LKST IPB University must be immediately utilized for the development of innovation and fostering startups and establishing cooperation with industry and stakeholders. This is in order to have an impact which is a measure of the maturity level of STP,” she added.

Assistant Deputy for Business Ecosystem Development, Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (Kemenkop UKM), Irwansyah highly appreciates the facilities of STP Taman Kencana and the role of IPB University in growing the startup ecosystem. He expressed this when benchmarking at GSC and discussing with the Head of STP IPB University and the leadership.

STP IPB University’s collaboration with Kemenkop UKM will be carried out with various programs, including organizing the Bogor Entrepreneur Hub Event, training and workshops in the field of agripreneur and Talkshow Menkop UKM with startups.

“We hope that Kemenkop UKM can continue to collaborate with STP IPB University. Hopefully the presence of GSC STP IPB University can provide enthusiasm and fresh air for start-up business actors, the community and industry in order to present a startup ecosystem in this region, so that it can contribute to growing the nation’s economy,” he concluded.

Several stakeholders have visited STP IPB University and discussed directly with the tenants, including the Rector of Wageningen University and Research; Director of Institutions of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology; Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Rector and leaders of Paramadina University; Rector and leaders of Ibnu Khaldun University; Pamulang University, Bank Syariah Indonesia, Regent of Aceh Jaya, Startup Community Tangan Di Atas (TDA) and others.
