SKHB IPB University Receives International Accreditation Visitation from ASIIN Germany

School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Science (SKHB) IPB University received a visitation in the framework of international accreditation from Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik (ASIIN), Germany (14-15/6). The visitation followed the submission of ASIIN’s self-assessment report (SAR).
The team of assessors was led by Prof Habil Helen Louton (Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, University of Rostock) with members consisting of Dr Christian Gruber (Voted Consulting Munich), Dr drh Vista Budiariati and Nadya Wacimin (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Gadjah Mada University) and Dr Natalia Vega (ASIIN Office). The assessor team has representation from academia, industry, management and students.
“Our motivation to apply for accreditation to ASIIN is to improve the quality of the learning process and graduates to be of international standard, as well as part of the internationalization program of study programs at IPB University,” explained Prof drh Ni Wayan Kurniani Karja, Vice Dean of SKHB IPB University in the field of Academic and Student Affairs in a meeting with the assessors.
In addition to meetings with program coordinators and institutional leaders, assessors also conducted interviews with the SAR drafting task force team, partners, lecturers, students and alumni. In between the interview process, the assessors also visited various facilities at SKHB IPB University, such as the Anatomy Lab (Moeslihoen Room), Necropsy Room (Pathology Division), Surgery Lab, Kesmavet Lab, Integrated Research Lab, FKH Practicum Room A and finally visited the Teaching Animal Hospital (RSHP).
The accreditation visitation activity ended with a meeting of all IPB University leaders, faculties, study programs and task force teams to listen to a brief presentation from the assessors about the results of the visitation.
“Thank you for the smooth preparation during the two-day visitation. All stakeholders are very supportive of the study program. Overall the study program is running well,” said Prof Louton.
He recommended several things such as the concept of diversity, services for students and employees with disabilities and chronic diseases. The assessor team highly appreciated the good English language skills, especially of the students, as well as the excellent calibration system of exam questions at SKHB IPB University.
