LMITD IPB University Receives Field Study Education Visit from SMK Bumi Sejahtera, Bogor Regency
Institute for Information Management and Digital Transformation (LMITD) IPB University received a visit from the Bumi Sejahtera Vocational High School, Bogor Regency for Field Study Education or learning outside the classroom. The delegation was officially accepted by the Assistant for Library at LMITD IPB University, Widiyati Kania, SSos, MP at the Library Building, Dramaga Campus of IPB, Bogor.
In her remarks, Widiyati expressed her gratitude for the group’s visit to LMITD IPB University. She also gave a brief explanation about LMITD IPB University and the fields it manages, namely the field of digital transformation, information and communication technology infrastructure (ITIK), digital libraries and archives as well as the IPB Future Museum and Gallery.
“The Field Study Education Program is held every year to support student knowledge through learning outside the classroom by visiting various institutions, including IPB University as one of the leading tertiary institutions in Indonesia,” said the Principal of SMK Bumi Sejahtera, Marjania Ayu Azizah, ST , mm.
The activity, which was attended by 195 tenth-grade students of the Business Institution Office Management (MPLB) and Accounting expertise competence along with 15 supervising teachers, aims to get to know IPB University better. In this activity, participants received related material delivered by supervisors in the LMITD environment and were then invited to go around the library to see the collection of library materials, reading rooms, service rooms and others directly.
Participants also saw the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) room and received a brief explanation of several service applications, including the official website at IPB University, online learning programs, practicum services, IPB Mobile for Parents and others.
After finishing touring the LMITD IPB University library and ICT, participants visited the IPB Future Museum and Gallery which presented documentation of various historical events of IPB University from time to time in an interesting visual and audiovisual form.
Other information obtained by participants at the IPB Future Museum and Gallery, namely about campus locations, faculties, departments and schools, various international collaborations, chancellors from time to time, messages from the President of the Republic of Indonesia to IPB University and various other things.
On this occasion, Vice Principal of SMK Bumi Sejahtera for Student Affairs, Lilis Pujasari, SPd said that after students visited the IPB Future Museum and Gallery and obtained a lot of information about higher education, it was hoped that this would increase their motivation to be interested in continuing to a higher level of education. She hopes the students can continue their studies at universities.

Hopefully in the future there can be collaboration between SMK Bumi Sejahtera Bogor Regency and LMITD IPB University in various programs that can provide mutual benefits, including the Industrial Work Practice (Prakerin) program.
