Himalkom IPB University Invites Students to Explore the Digital Transformation of the Financial Industry with BRI

Digital transformation in the financial sector has become an important issue in recent years. Attention to data security, digital payments, artificial intelligence, officeless financial services, blockchain, cryptocurrencies and regulation is increasing.
Realizing the relevance of these issues, the Computer Science Student Association (Himalkom) IPB University held an I-Visit program at the Directorate of Digital and Information Technology, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI). This visit aims to provide practical insight and experience to IPB University students from the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) about the world of the technology industry.
“Participants toured four divisions in the Directorate of Digital and Information Technology, namely the IT Strategy and Governance Division, the Digital Banking Development and Operations Division, the IT Security Division and the Enterprise Data Management Division,” said Patrick, Chairman of Himalkom IPB University.
He explained, each division provides an in-depth explanation of the field of work and their responsibilities. IPB University students participating in the visit also had the opportunity to witness a dynamic and innovative work environment.
“We got a lot of insight through this event, one of which is about the Cultural Fit Test. This test is an evaluation process to assess the personality competence and values of an individual with the culture and values of an organization,” he said.
This test, he continued, aims to ensure that each individual can adapt to the existing work environment, comply with organizational norms and ethics, and make a positive contribution to the success of the company.
“Through seminars and tours of divisions in BRI’s Digital and Information Technology Directorate, we can see how technology is applied in various aspects of the company’s operations and learn about work processes in each division,” explained Patrick.
According to him, this visit also opened up opportunities for further collaboration, such as internship opportunities and research collaborations with BRIBrain. Through this program, participants have the opportunity to work on their thesis with the support of competent supervisors, access to data, financial benefits, and the opportunity of getting a golden ticket to start a career at BRI.
