Commanding the Ceremony of Hardiknas, Prof Arif Satria Conveys the Message of Mendikbudristek

Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria led the Commemoration Ceremony of National Education Day (Hardiknas) in 2023 which took place at the Rectorate Field, IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor (2/5). He said, Hardiknas is a momentum to continue reforming national education.

According to him, education is a very strategic sector to build character, competence, skill. It is also a place to increase the commitment of the entire nation to spread the benefits for the progress of the nation.

“Therefore, with the Freedom of Learning-Independence Campus (MBKM) policy, let us be enthusiastic with various creative and productive steps to be able to advance our national education,” he said.

As the master of ceremonies, the rector also read the mandate of the Indonesian Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Mendikbudristek) which called that this year’s Hardiknas was the right time to reflect on every challenge that had been faced, as well as every inch of bold steps that had been taken.

“The 24 episodes of Merdeka Belajar that have been launched bring us closer to the noble ideals of Ki Hajar Dewantara. Namely education that guides the talents, interests and potential of students so that they are able to achieve the highest safety and happiness as a human being and as a member of society, “said Prof Arif reading the mandate of the Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Nadiem Makarim.

He added, in line with the Merdeka Curriculum which emphasizes in-depth learning to develop character and competence, currently the selection of state universities also focuses on measuring literacy and reasoning skills. At the tertiary level, students who used to only learn theory in the classroom can now travel the world seeking knowledge and experience outside the campus with the presence of the Independence Campus programs.

“This massive transformation should be celebrated with gratitude and excitement, because everything is the result of hard work and cooperation. Therefore, let us celebrate this day with enthusiasm to continue the realization of Merdeka Belajar, educating a generation of Pancasila students who are smart, have character and take Indonesia leaping into the future with liberating education.
