IPB University Announces Admissions Acceptance for OSIS Chairs, PIN and International Class
IPB University announced the names of applicants who passed the IPB University application process through the Student Council Chair, International and National Achievement (PIN), and International Class for Indonesian Citizens (WNI) pathways, Friday (14/4).
"Out of a total of 1,189 applicants for the Undergraduate OSIS Chair and 155 applicants for the Vocational School OSIS Chair (SV) pathway, 345 people were declared to have passed the selection for the Undergraduate OSIS Chair and 73 people were declared to have passed the selection for the SV OSIS Chair," said Vice Rector of IPB University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof drh Deni Noviana.
The Student Council Chair's pathway is an independent IPB University selection program that is specifically intended for students who were the presidents of student councils majoring in Natural Sciences in Indonesia. This scheme was developed to find prospective students who have proven leadership skills as student council presidents while in high school. At the same time, they are required to have adequate academic ability to be educated at IPB to become future leaders with high integrity and intellectuality.
"Prospective students will receive leadership, entrepreneurship and other training. Through this scheme, it is hoped that it will produce prospective leaders who lead with a scientific approach, or apply scientific-based leadership," said Prof. Deni.
"Meanwhile, 135 people were declared to have passed the Undergraduate PIN route and 46 people were declared to have passed the SV PIN route after competing in the selection which was attended by 2,286 Undergraduate PIN applicants and 368 SV PINs," he added.
The PIN pathway is a pathway that provides opportunities for graduates of high school/equivalent or vocational high school with extraordinary achievements in extracurricular activities. Those who can register are outstanding students in competitions at international and national levels. Among other things, in scientific work competitions, mathematics olympiads, physics, chemistry, biology, informatics, sports, hafizh, scouts and arts.
"The International Class route announced today is for Indonesian citizens. Out of a total of 119 applicants, 85 people were declared qualified to become new students at IPB University this year, which is also called the selection for the International Class Pathway Batch 60," said Prof. Deni.
The International Class Path is a route offered for prospective students who want to experience the atmosphere of studying abroad with the main language, English. According to Prof. Deni, there are two types of acceptances in this route, namely for Indonesian citizens and foreign nationals (WNA) participants.
"For Indonesian citizens, batch 2 is still open at the same time as the IPB Independent Entrance Selection (SM-IPB). For the results of the selection of foreign participants, the entrance exam will be held on May 7th and announced on May 22nd, 2023. There are five study programs offered in this pathway, namely Veterinary Medicine, Food Technology, Agricultural Industrial Engineering, Business School and Marine Science and Technology, he explained.
The Director of Educational Administration, Dr. Utami Dyah Syafitri added, all prospective new students from the Student Council Chair, PIN and International Class (WNI) pathways are required to register via the registration.admisi.ipb.ac.id page.
