Halalbihalal IPB University, Rector Gives Important Message to Answer the Challenge of Change

IPB University held Halalbihalal 1444H which took place at Graha Widya Wisuda Building (GWW), (28/4). Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria expressed his apologies to the entire big family of IPB University.
"We meet in a clean atmosphere physically and mentally. It is hoped that the cleanliness of our souls will be able to encourage the creation of a clean society. Cleanliness of society is our ideal in order to build a great civilization," he said.
In this activity, he gave several important messages. First, how to answer the challenges of the changes that occur. The reason is, according to him, what is eternal in this world is change.
"This change is a necessity. This change is getting faster and faster. In the past, people changed due to various factors, with the range of changes being 1000 years, so we are familiar with the millennium," he said.
However, he said, currently the changes are 10 years or decades. Perhaps in 2030-2040, changes will occur even faster, maybe five years or even every year. "This is an acceleration of change that needs to be responded to," he stated.
"There are at least four choices for our role. First, we have a role as leaders of change. Second, we can become followers of change. Third, we become spectators of change to follow changes that may be outdated and the last is the opponent of change," said Prof Arif.
The second message, he continued, is to strengthen the growth mindset. With a growth mindset, it is possible to break through various limits of creativity because of strong determination and self-confidence. He said, this capital is needed in future competitions.
"My third message, the lecturers, education staff (tendik) and alumni of IPB University must become trendsetters and leaders of change. The knowledge gained is used as capital to spread traces and legacies that provide a multiplier effect," he said.
Meanwhile, the Rector of the Indonesia International Islamic University (UIII), Prof Komaruddin Hidayat had the opportunity to give a tausiah. He delivered a speech related to 'Gluing hearts, sharpening vision, achieving institutional glory'.
In the closeness of the heart, according to him, the law of attraction applies. Pure and sincere hearts will attract each other and collaborate in purity and sincerity to build a national civilization.
"People who have strings attached are short-sighted, pursuing momentary satisfaction. People who are not intelligent have myopic vision. They don't have a helicopter view," said Prof Komaruddin.
In addition, he said the importance of the ability to collaborate. Collaboration is believed to be able to build institutions so that humans appear as God's khalifah. (Ns/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
