The Postgraduate School (SPs) of IPB University held another SPs IPB University Podcast Episode 27 discussing the topic of the Agricultural Industrial Engineering Study Program (TIP), which was previously held. This podcast is filled by the Head of the TIP Study Program, Prof. Illah Sailah and guided by the Dean of SPs IPB University, Prof. Anas Miftah Fauzi as the host.

In this podcast, Prof. Anas Miftah Fauzi as the host said that the TIP study program is a master's and doctoral study program under the Faculty of Agricultural Technology.

“Currently Indonesia has a lot of agricultural products. Certainly, the process of providing added value is important, such as the development of agro-industry which can provide added value so that it can complete the agricultural revolution in its time. Of course the study program at TIP has a very big role in producing reliable human resources and innovation in agriculture," he said.

Apart from that, Prof. Illah Sailah said that there needed to be new innovations that provide added value to agricultural products in a complex manner. Therefore, this study program has a mandate in producing knowledge to produce thinkers, researchers and also practitioners in the field of agricultural agro-industry that perfect agriculture.

"The third is engineering. How to deal with waste, can it be recycled into products, or even become zero waste or zero waste. Even if it has to be disposed of, there must be special treatment so that the people who are affected are still safe in their environment," he explained.

Another one is information systems engineering, he added. Before this existed, there would have been no thought of an industrial revolution 4.0. It is the flow of information within an industrial system that is important, so that system information management becomes body knowledge.

"Therefore, the essence of the TIP study program is to engineer, design, develop, implement and evaluate for the improvement of agro-industry systems involving people, technology, processes, environment and even the information itself," he explained.

Prof Illah Sailah added that the TIP Study Program also has a Double Degree (DD) program, one of which is with Adelaide University. There have been several batches that were originally from the ministry but are now open and can be financed by the Education Fund Management Agency (LPDP).

'Currently the TIP Study Program has A accreditation for master programs and Superior Accreditation for doctoral programs from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN PT). The TIP Study Program opens two acceptance pathways, namely the regular route and by research route for masters and doctoral programs, and opens registration in odd and even semesters," he said.
