IPB University Maintains Rank 1 in Southeast Asia According to QS World Ranking by Subject Agriculture and Forestry
The world university ranking organization, again released the QS World University Ranking (WUR) by Subject 2023. IPB University managed to maintain the best first position in the Southeast Asia region in the field of Agriculture and Forestry.
IPB University is ranked 1st in Southeast Asia, 8th in Asia and 51st in the world. This ranking is evaluated by five indicators namely academic reputation, employer reputation, citations, h-index, and International research network.
Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria, said, "The reputation of IPB University, both academic reputation and employer reputation, has increased. Even the graduate reputation score (based on a survey of graduate users) is very high (95.8) higher than Wageningen University (95.1) which is ranked 1st in the QS Subject Ranking on Agriculture and Forestry. This fact shows the excellent quality of education at IPB that produces graduates who are rated very well by graduate users. IPB's reputation in the academic field (76.1) is also relatively higher than some well-known universities in the world."
"IPB University continues to consistently strive to improve research performance and international research networks, so it is expected that IPB's ranking will increase in the future," said Rector. Until the end of 2022, IPB has joined 50 international research consortia.
The overall score (total score) of IPB University in the field of Agriculture and Forestry this year is 71.9. In addition to reputation, there was also an increase in the institution's h_index score, with a score of 72.7 which shows the quality of publications that are good and widely cited.
This year IPB University also recorded one scientific field included in the ranking, namely Business and Management Science. Now there are five scientific fields included in the ranking (Agriculture and Forestry, Biology, Environmental Science, Economics and Econometrics and Business and Management Science)," he explained.
