Achievement

Researcher of the Halal Science Center of IPB University, Dr. Nancy Dewi Yuliana became one of the inspirational women who was included in the book entitled Contribution of Women in the Global Islamic Economy. The book, published by the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) and the Islamic Economy Academy, contains 90 inspiring women selected from various countries.

Dr. Nancy is considered to have a significant contribution to research, education, and training on halal. Dr. Nancy is a researcher at the Center for Halal Science Studies at IPB University, as well as a lecturer at the Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, IPB University.

She graduated from master’s and doctoral programs from Leiden University (Netherlands) in the field of natural products and had the opportunity to conduct postdoctoral research at Tsukuba University, Japan.

As a prolific researcher, Dr. Nancy is also active in building research collaborations, both with researchers or institutions from within and outside the country. Dr. Nancy has published the results of her research in various reputable national and international journals in the field of food. Including the authentication of halal food products using food fingerprinting and metabolomics methods.

As many as 1 Japanese patent, 62 Scopus-indexed non-proceeding scientific articles, and 54 Web of Science-indexed articles in the halal field and other fields of food science and technology have been published.

Dr. Nancy is also active in giving lectures related to halal science and the halal guarantee system to undergraduate and postgraduate students at IPB University. In addition, Dr. Nancy is an active auditor at the Institute for the Assessment of Food Medicines and Cosmetics of the Indonesian Ulema Council (LPPOM MUI).

She is also active as a resource person at national and international scientific seminars, as well as a trainer at training related to halal assurance systems for national and multinational companies. (*/Zul) (IAAS/ANF)
