Agria Swara IPB University has successfully held the Eclipse Concert
Located at the Usmar Ismail Hall, Jakarta, the Student Choir (PSM) of IPB Agria Swara successfully held a concert entitled Eclipse 2023 (12/3). This is a concert attended by all batches of PSM IPB Agria Swara which aims as a learning arena for singers to continue to grow, not only from music but also organizations. This concert is also a sign that Agria Swara can still continue to be able to create.
Eclipse Chairperson, Alifia Nabila Hakim said, this concert raised the theme ‘A Mellifluous Chant of Light and Darkness’ with the meaning of melodious singing about the beauty of the moon and the sun eclipse event. The sun is symbolized as a male choir whose scorching light gives strength to create masterpieces of life. While the moon is symbolized as a female choir which is a symbol of the human birth cycle and will continue to work.
“The concert titled ‘Eclipse’ is a combination of the beautiful power of the two choir groups. The difference in voice character does not become an obstacle, but rather a force to build awareness of roles and create a beautiful harmony,” said Alifia, IPB University student batch 57.
Eclipse this time involved 77 team members, with the direction of the main coach of IPB Agria Swara Choir, Arvin Zeinullah, performed live and witnessed by more than three hundred spectators from various circles.
Alifia elaborated, the opening of the concert in the first session was the female choir by performing five songs. It opened with the song Spring, the Sweet Spring (George Oldroyd), Der Wasserman (Robert Schumann), Rocking Robin (Roger Emerson), Nella Fantasia (Ennio Morricone) and ended with the song Route 66 (Bobby Troup).
The second session was the male choir with five songs. The performance began with the song Sedem Si Roz Porezala Mi (Zorko Prelovec), Amor De Mi Alma (Z Randall Stroope), Joshua (Robert Sells), Akai Bipa Mare – Asai Bori (Arvin Zeinullah) and ended with the song The Lazy Song (Bruno Mars, Ari Levine, Philip Lawrence and Keinan Warsame).
The performance was continued by mixed choir, which is a combination of female choir and male choir. In this session, eight songs were performed, namely Omnia Sol Temperat (Andrej Makor), Вот мчится тройка почтовая (Yoshiki Miyamoto), Coronation Chorus (Alexander Pushkin), Waltzing Matilda (Bob Chilcott), Sagastipean (Javi Busto), Yesterday (John Lennon and Paul McCartney), Lisoi (Nahum Situmorang) and as the closing song, My Childhood (Elfa Secioria). Yesterday, Lisoi and Masa Kecilku are performed with choreography and expressions of singers who interpret the song.
“Through this concert, it would be our hope that enthusiasm for music will continue to grow to everyone and become a medium to introduce classical music. Thank you to everyone involved in organizing the concert for making it a success,” said Alifia.
She admitted that the concert performance of Agria Swara Choir this time received a lot of appreciation and applause. Alifia hopes that after the implementation of this concert, the singing and organizational skills of the young generation of IPB Agria Swara Choir can continue to grow in the future. (*/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
