Poster on Utilization of Organic Waste as Maggot Media by IPB University Students Wins Bronze Medal

The poster entitled "Teenmagotion: Utilization of Organic Waste as a Maggot Media to Increase the Independence and Economy of Santri at the Darun Nadwa Islamic Boarding School, Sukabumi Regency" won a bronze medal at the 2022 National Student Scientific Week (Pimnas) at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. This poster by IPB University students is part of the Student Creativity-Community Service Program (PKM PM).

The poster team consisted of Muhammad Dicky Iswara, Muhammad Ricky Damara, Elsa Nopiyanti, Imra Atun Helmi, Nurdiansyah Albarokah. They were guided by Dr Drs Muhammad Farid, MSi, Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) IPB University.

In his narrative, the PKM PM Team Leader, Muhammad Dicky Iswara was very impressed with the work of other Pimnas participating universities. "The poster from the Ganesha University of Education conveys an interesting Balinese culture in service to its people. So is the work of students from Gadjah Mada University and the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology," he said.

However, Dicky assessed that the poster made by his team also had clear substance in its entirety in describing all the program results from the PKM PM activities they carried out. In addition, the unique poster design adds to the reader's interest so that the substance conveyed can be clearly understood

“I didn't expect that our first Pimnas would get a medal. This is a very significant achievement for us. Apart from that, this activity has been going on for about a year and alhamdulillah the one year struggle has paid off. I am also happy because I have new friends, new experiences, new knowledge and can be part of Adikarta Kertawidya's return to IPB University and of course I can be invited to travel," he said.

Dicky hopes that next year he can come back and be able to qualify for Pimnas again and get even better results. "Our big hope is that IPB University will continue to be the overall champion in Pimnas 36," he added. (dh/Zul)
