IPB University Thematic Real Work Lecture (KKN-T) Students Hold Ecoenzyme Making Practices with Cibanteng Villagers
Students of the Thematic Real Work Lecture (KKN-T) of IPB University held a practice of processing organic waste and making ecoenzymes with residents of the RT 5 RW 8 Cibanteng Village, Bogor, West Java. One of the Thematic Real Work Lecture (KKN-T) students, Nabila Nur Septiani explained that ecoenzymes can be used as a multi-purpose liquid for households. This activity was also carried out as an effort to support Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 12, namely Responsible Consumption and Production.
Unlike fertilizers in general, ecoenzymes liquid has a fragrant aroma, making it suitable to use indoors. The resulting ecoenzymes can be used as floor cleaners, room deodorizers, bathroom cleaners and a mixture to make dish soap.
Nana as the chief of RT 5 Cibanteng Village expressed that organic waste processing is needed to utilize the waste generated by households. Moreover, in Cibanteng Village, household waste is dominated by organic waste. The production of this ecoenzyme liquid is expected to produce useful products for households.
“Residents are enthusiastic and warmly welcome this training. Because they can practice making ecoenzymes directly. In addition, the ecoenzyme liquid that has been made can be brought home and used after being processed for three months," explained Nabila, a student of Thematic Real Work Lecture (KKN-T) of IPB University.
In full, the Thematic Real Work Lecture (KKN-T) team of IPB University in Cibanteng Village consists of ten students from three different study programs, namely Resource and Environmental Economics, Agronomy and Horticulture, and Landscape Architecture.
