IPB University LKST Receives Udayana University Visit


The Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) of Udayana University made a visit and benchmarking to the Institute for Science and Technology Area (LKST) - Science Techno Park (STP) IPB University. The visit was carried out in the context of the initiation of STP at Udayana University.

LKST IPB University welcomed the arrival of the Udayana University LPPM team in the LKST Management Building Meeting Room on 11/8. Present at the meeting were a team from Udayana University, namely the Head of LPPM, Prof. drh I Nyoman Suarsana; LPPM Secretary, Ni Made Ary Esta Dewi Wirastuti, PhD; the inventors, Dr. Ni Luh Suriani and Ni Kadek Warditiani, SFarm, MSc, Apt; and the LPPM Administrative Coordinator (KTU), Putu Yadnya, SE, MM.

The chairman of the LPPM of Udayana University, Prof. drh I Nyoman Suarsana explained, now Udayana University has become a State University with a Legal Entity (PTN BH). The innovation institute at Udayana University was only formed in 2018.

“Currently, we want to develop the STP which is planned to be inaugurated during the anniversary activities in September. Therefore, we want to study the business processes and structures at IPB University for our adoption at the STP which we will develop," said Prof drh I Nyoman Suarsana explaining the purpose and objectives of the visit.

During the visit, the Assistant for Management and Acquisition of Intellectual Property LKST IPB University, Dr I Ketut Mudite Adnyane provided information about the structure and management, duties and functions of LKST IPB University. He also explained about the facilities and services available at LKST IPB University.

“To build the STP structure, the main key is the flow or process of how to achieve the downstreaming of the invention. If the flow has been drawn up, the units or things needed will be easy to determine," said this Lecturer of the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical (SKHB) IPB University.

He further explained that the main function of STP is technology transfer and technology incubation. So that inventions with a low level of technology readiness (TKT) can be more ready to be implemented in industry and society. This STP will later become a bridge for innovators and user partners.

"This visit is expected to be the starting point for collaboration between STP institutions in Indonesia, so that STP IPB University can continue to develop to be better and stronger," concluded Dr I Ketut Mudite Adnyane.

In addition to the presentation, the Udayana University LPPM team was also invited to tour the STP IPB University area to see firsthand the facilities owned by LKST and the in-wall tenant incubation process. (*/Rz)
