MBKM Collaboration and Wood Technology Innovation Between Fahutan IPB University and ILWA


The World of Business and Industry (DUDI) is a strategic partner and is an important part of the collaboration to produce university graduates who are tough, agile, and in accordance with the needs of the world of work. In the field of Forest Products Technology, the Faculty of Forestry and Environment (Fahutan) of IPB University has signed a cooperation agreement with the Indonesian Light Timber Association (ILWA) in the field of education and the development of technological innovations, recently in Surakarta, Central Java.

Dean of Fahutan IPB University, Dr Naresworo Nugroho, the importance of this collaboration is to support the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program and as a medium for the implementation of the Enriched and Empowered Society program carried out by IPB University.

The implementation of this Cooperation Activity will last for the next five years also with the organizers of the main performance indicators (IKU) of IPB University, including lecturers from practice, practice and student internships in industry, mentoring and experts in industry, product innovation, and information system development. "The implementation will be coordinated by the Head of the Forest Products Service," he said.

On the other hand, Ir Setyo Wisnu Broto, MM as the General Chair of ILWA welcomed this collaboration because technological innovations owned by universities such as IPB University will greatly support the development of the wood processing industry business.

ILWA consists of around 230 wood industries throughout Indonesia, and through this collaboration it is hoped that a link and match will be built in response to advances in science and technology between IPB University as an agent of innovation and producer of superior human resources with the business world, especially the Indonesian timber industry.
