IPB University held a soft launching of a new sports community, namely IPB Golf Community. IPB Golf Community is a sports community founded by the Sub-Directorate of Character Building, Directorate of Student Affairs and Career Development (Ditmawa PK) IPB University together with students who are golf sports activists.

The soft launching of IPB Golf Community was held at the Ditmawa Entertainment Studio of IPB University and attended by Dr. Alim Setiawan Slamet as Director of Student Affairs and Career Development, Prof. Ujang Sumarwan as Dean of the Faculty of Human Ecology, Dr. Berry Juliandi as Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and golf activists from student element. After the soft launch, the activity continued with mobilization to the Atang Sanjaya Driving Range for golf driving.

In this activity, it was revealed that there are four deans who are ready to become coaches of IPB Golf Community. They are the Dean of the Faculty of Human Ecology, the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management.
“This community is expected to be a forum for students who really have a passion in this field. Students who want to learn golf can develop their abilities,” said Dr Alim.

Meanwhile, according to Dodo Notonegoro, SKPM as the founder of IPB Golf Community, the formation of this community is one proof of support for sports development at IPB University. The hope is that it can serve as an example for the development of sports in other places. In addition, Prof. Ujang Sumarwan added that IPB University alumni who are currently golf activists, mostly only learn after they graduate. "Hopefully with the creation of this community, younger siblings can learn when they were students," said Prof. Ujang. (**/Zul) (IAAS/SYA)
