IPB University Collaborates with Riau Islands Provincial Government to Develop One Village One CEO
IPB University collaborated with the Riau Islands Provincial Government to develop One Village One CEO in the Riau Islands. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was carried out by the Rector of IPB University, Prof. Arif Satria with the Governor of the Riau Islands, Ansar Ahmad, (12/2).
In a youtube channel broadcast by Batam TV Bureau of TPI, this cooperation in developing One Village One CEO (OVOC) is expected to advance the economy and welfare of the people of the Riau Islands. The OVOC program is an innovative work of IPB University in the form of an empowerment-based rural business ecosystem innovation and village-owned businesses. Its activities consist of land facilities, capital, technical assistance, and market partnerships with off-takers who will form an integrated system from upstream to downstream,
The Rector of IPB University, Prof. Arif Satria said that IPB University will immediately provide assistance to Village Owned Enterprises or BUMDes in the Riau Islands, in terms of technology deepening.
“The deepening of this technology is expected to increase agricultural productivity and can be a way for marketing superior products in the villages. The technology deepening will be carried out by the CEOs," said the Rector.
The Rector added that the OVOC program has been developed in 53 villages in West Java. He hopes that this year's OVOC program can be implemented in 100 villages in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the Governor of the Riau Islands, Ansar Ahmad, expressed his gratitude to IPB University for this collaboration. Ansar hopes that the OVOC program which is part of this collaboration can improve the welfare of rural communities in the Riau Islands.
“We plan to pay serious attention to the program as a result of this collaboration. In addition, we will cooperate with all parties to synergize in this program. Such as universities, Regional Technical Implementation Units, and village officials in the Riau Islands for the success of this OVOC program," he said. (*)(IAAS/UBI)
