Through Tefa, IPB University Vocational School Presents Industrial Aura on Campus

The presence of the Teaching Factory (Tefa) for universities today is very important. The reason is, Tefa is a place for students to get to know the industry as well as the new technology available. This was stated by the Rector of IPB University, Prof. Arif Satria in the inauguration of the Student Center and Precision Horticulture Vocational School (SV) IPB University as well as the Groundbreaking Teaching Factory, which was named the Epsilon Building, 18/1.

According to Prof. Arif, the presence of Tefa is important for the compatibility between education and industry. In this way, education is able to be up to date, in accordance with the times. Even now, the Vocational School of IPB University continues to enrich teaching factory facilities on campus.

"We want vocational graduates when they enter the industry, what they face is the same. Students who study in vocational schools, with this smart Tefa facility, when they graduate, are not surprised. Tefa aims to introduce industry to students and present an industrial aura in the campus world," said Prof. Arif Satria.

On the same occasion, the Dean of the IPB University Vocational School, Dr Arief Daryanto explained, Tefa is a learning vehicle for education, innovation and research activities. Good for students, lecturers and industry partners.

"SV IPB University's Teaching Factory will continue to grow, because of its multi-discipline approach. This is our pride. And this complements the existing learning center of IPB University," he explained.

According to him, IPB University itself currently has many learning centers in various regions. These include the Cikabayan Experimental Garden, Sadifa Farm, Sabisa Farm, Agribusiness Technology Park, the Sukamantri Experimental Garden for Ornamental Plants, the Pasir Sarongge Experimental Garden, and the largest one is located in Jonggol, named IPB-Jabar Innovation Valley.

"Hopefully, the development of this practice facility can provide motivation to further improve the quality of education, research and innovation, as well as generate income for institutions," said Dr Arief.

In addition to inaugurating the Greenhouse Precision Horticulture and Student Center, the Rector of IPB University also had the opportunity to visit the Teaching Factory available at the Vocational School of IPB University. These include Greenhouse Precision Aquaculture and E-Fisheries, V-Garden, Culinary Lab/Kitchen Studio and Vocational School Veterinary Clinic. (Rz/Zul)
