IPB University Wins Overall Champion of Abdidaya 2021


IPB University won the General Champion in Abdidaya 2021. Abdidaya 2021 is the first activity held by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa) of the Directorate General of Higher Education (Ditjen Dikti) Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) RI which mandates IPB University as host. Abdidaya 2021 was attended by 113 universities throughout Indonesia with a total of 240 teams divided into 6 schemes, namely 4 PHP2D schemes, 1 P3D scheme, and 1 Wiradesa scheme.

Dr. Alim Setiawan Slamet, as the Chief Executive of Abdidaya 2021 said, "To expand student opportunities in village empowerment activities, many universities convey the need for more flexible ministry programs."

Meanwhile, Prof. Aris Junaidi, Director of Learning and Student Affairs - Kemendikbudristek, said that the source of our strength is the village. He also emphasized, "Students, assistant lecturers, universities, and village partner institutions are champions, all are true warriors, think and succeed not only for themselves but for the village."

In this program, IPB University was named the General Champion through the acquisition of a gold medal in the support system category for the Holistic Village Development and Empowerment Program (PHP2D) 1, the category of Companion Lecturer for the PHP2D 1 scheme, the support system category for the PHP2D scheme 2, the Student Organization category for the PHP2D scheme 2, and the category of Student Organizations for the Wira Desa program. The 2021 Abdidaya is grouped into 4 categories, namely the Student Organization Category, the Assisting Lecturer Category, the Village Partner Institution Category, and the Support System Category which are representatives of each institution.

Dr. Drajat Martianto, Vice Rector of IPB University for Education and Student Affairs said, "There are no winners in this competition, because all of them are winners, winning the hearts of the village community, winning the hearts of partners."

He also said, "Universities should not only be beacons, but must be the pioneers of change whose benefits must be felt."

Dr. Drajat hopes that this activity can be an inspiration to serve the country and further foster a spirit of devotion. Not only that, through this program as well, it can give birth to young empowerees to be able to answer global challenges. (*) (IAAS/FJN)
