IPB Vocational School’s 2020 Students Orientation Sets World Record
There is always something unique in the Orientation Program (known as MPKMB) of IPB University’s Vocational School (VS). Previously, IPB University’s Vocational School managed to set the record for Configuring Mosaics with the Most Used Plastic Bottles and Configuring Formations with the Most Totebag Media, recorded by the Record Holders Republic (RHR). This time, in the Orientation Program of the 57th Student Batch, 2020, in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, new students of VS have set the record for the Greatest Number of Photos and Images in Mosaic, Virtually, on September 5th. The mosaic video forms 75 photos which are arranged using 5.686 photos during the 57th Vocational School Orientation Program, can be seen in this Instagram TV.
The Vice President of Record Holders Republic (RHR), Halim Sugiarto, explained that the criteria of the record are that it must be unique, has a certain specialty, require the use of skills, and has a meaningful value. The record made with 5.686 photos and images was done in the middle of a pandemic, is incredibly difficult, and has been presented in video form. The Dean of IPB University’s Vocational School, Dr Arief Daryanto, expresses his congratulations for all new students entering batch 57th, named Laksamana Agridaya. He conveyed his hopes that they would in the future be “laksamana” (admirals) or leaders which would bring glory to agriculture in the broad meaning. In this condition of the COVID-19 pandemic, agriculture comes in as a saviour.
The Orientation Program was held for two days, on the 4th-5th September 2020, virtually using Zoom and YouTube live stream. This program provides students with the knowledge of the academic system and learning, including the introduction of academical and student affairs in the VS campus. Students were also introduced to the Vocational School’s slogan, “To be the Premiere Choice for Higher Vocational Education”, which is in line with their aim to produce capable, skilled, and qualified alumni. Their activities of the program include introductions and performances from Student Organizations in the VS environment, such as the D’Voice Student Choir which has many acclaimed achievements both on national and international levels. Other performances were given by Music of Vocation, Teater Jendela (Window Theater) and was closed with a video screening on coffee production.
