Lecturers of IPB University Held an Inhouse Mikrotik Training and Learning Styles for Vocational School Students

As an effort to improve the quality of Vocational High School (SMK) graduates, Bayu Widodo, ST, MT, IPB University Lecturers from the Informatics Management Study Program, the Vocational School provides Mikrotik Inhouse training. This activity is part of the Lecturer Serving program from the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) which was carried out recently.

"This training in computer and network engineering aims to equip prospective vocational high school graduates to be better prepared to face the world of work with inhouse mikrotik training," said Bayu in front of the training participants held at SMK Pandu, Cibungbulang, Bogor.

Meanwhile, according to Uding Sastrawan, SP, MSi, Lecturer of IPB University from the Agribusiness Management Study Program, Vocational School, this training program is an effort to improve soft skills and hard skills for SMK graduates and prepare superior and reliable graduates. Especially during the adaptation period for new habits, the economy and the need for labor are predicted to be no longer the same. "Many new opportunities, both in companies and in the business sector, will shift to graduates who master special competencies and skills such as this mikrotik network system," he concluded.

In this training, Ani Nuraeni, SPd, MPd, IPB University Lecturer from the Food and Nutrition Service Industry Management Study Program, Vocational School was also present. On this occasion, Ani explained about the learning styles of students. According to her, students usually have different learning styles, where learning styles can be divided into three types. Namely visual, auditory and kinesthetic. The ability of students when understanding the lessons presented will also vary.

"Students’ learning styles can be seen when they try to understand a material, so that students can absorb, process, organize, understand, remember the information obtained, when solving problems that are being faced, when doing activities following learning," she said. (IAAS/FAP)
