Campus Merdeka: Rector of IPB University Plans to Open a Joint Degree Postgraduate Program with Domestic Colleges
Discussion about the Merdeka Campus is indeed very interesting. One of the skills that must be possessed by postgraduate students is an orientation to complex problem solving skills. The contents of complex problem solving must be in the structure of the course, the content of the lecture and also in research. This was conveyed by the Rector of IPB University, Prof. Dr. Arif Satria in the 2020 Curriculum Academic Workshop "Implementation of K2020 IPB's gracious and Friendly Graduate School" at the Andi Hakim Nasoetion Auditorium, Dramaga Campus of IPB, Bogor (13/2).
Another skill that postgraduate students must have is collaboration skills. Collaboration is a necessity. Working in any field requires collaboration, cannot work alone. In the bachelor program, a cross-discipline project has been initiated, namely interdisciplinary collaboration. So it is important that the outcome is owned by IPB University graduates. In any discipline, there will be strong characteristics of IPB University graduates with collaboration and complex problem solving. So collaboration is something that must be encouraged, "the chancellor said.
In addition postgraduate education programs must be flexible. Flexible in completing competencies with the fields you want to master. At this time students already understand very well what knowledge is their need. According to him, currently IPB University has conducted an assessment with the University of Indonesia (UI) related to joint degrees between universities in Indonesia. This program will be the first in Indonesia, between UI and IPB University.
Did not rule out the possibility of opportunities for other universities to be able to take credit at IPB University. That way, people are free to take courses at IPB University. Take learning credit. And don't have to take a degree at IPB University, "he added.
Meanwhile, Dean of the Graduate School of IPB University, Prof. Dr. Anas Miftah Fauzi, hoped that this activity could bring new education learning by doing, creativity, e-learning / blended learning, open education resourches, regional / local engagement.
