Emergency Response Team LPPM IPB University Sends Temporary Aids to Flood Victims in Nanggung, Bogor

IPB University sent temporary aids for the victims of the floods in Nanggung, Bogor Regency (3/1). The Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM)IPB University, Dr. Aji Hermawan said that IPB University team had met with the ranks of The Nanggung Sector Police (Polsek) and also The Head of Nanggung District to indentify the needs for the victims.

We suggest to not go to the flood location, aside from the fact that its far, its also inaccessible for cars. In fact, there is a car accident caused by the landslides and there are some cars that have been going up but cannot go down,he said.

Today, we only distribute logistic aids which are centered in Nanggung Sector Police. These temporary aids are urgent items needed by the community based on the information from Bogor  Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD).he added. The aids have been received by Yudi Rahman, SH, The Head of Disaster Post in Nanggung District.

There are two refugee posts in Nanggung District, which located in Parigi Village with 1.300 refugess and Cirangap Village with 250 refugees. This amount can be changed depends on the situation. Next, IPB University can take role in those two refugee posts, the new disaster assessment can be implemented after the disaster area can be accessed. Furthermore, IPB University can also take role in rehabilitation, reconstruction, and also community assistance for the aftermath of flood disaster. According to the prediction of The Head of Nanggung District, Syaefullah, this disaster management cant be completed within six months,he said. (IAAS/NRF)
