Students from Malaysia Comparative Study to IPB University


Management & Science University (MSU) students from Sabah Malaysia University visited the Faculty of Agricultural Technology (Fateta), IPB University. The visit took place in the Fateta Meeting Room, Dramaga Campus, Bogor (2/9).

"MSU Sabah students visited Fateta for a comparative study and leadership management program. As many as 12 Malaysian students and two lecturers came, I look forward to the collaboration between Fateta and MSU Sabah Malaysia, one of which is the summer course program, "said the Deputy Dean of Academic and Student Affairs at Fateta IPB University, Prof. Dr. Ono Suparno.

"We chose IPB University as a visiting campus because IPB University is one of the leading universities in Indonesia. This visit aims to introduce Malaysian culture and learn about technology at IPB University. With this information technology, I hope our students have new knowledge. The Department of Food Science and Technology (ITP) has provided sufficient facilities, so students are ready to work in the industry upon graduation, "said the Academic Head of MSU College Sabah, Mr. Anthony Chai.

Students who come from the departments 'Food Service and Technology' and 'Biomedical Technology'. After getting an introduction about the Faculty of Agricultural Technology and the ITP Department, participants took a lab tour and were guided by several students and lecturers of ITP IPB University, Dr. Dian Herawati.

The laboratories visited were the Sensory Evaluation Laboratory, Food Microbiology, Food Analysis, Pilot Plant (F-Techno Park), and SEAFAST Center. Malaysian students also saw the coffee processing and tasting of coffee made by ITP students.

The visit was closed with a cultural exchange. MSU College Sabah students performed two distinctive dances, namely Sabahan Original and Kundi Curricula. Fateta IPB University students performed the song O Ina Ni Keke, a North Maluku regional song. (AVR)
