IPB Becomes the Host of the Indonesian Vice Rector Forum


Around 50 vice-rectors from universities in Indonesia attended the Workshop of Deputy Rectors, Directors, Chairperson of the Indonesian State University Collaboration (PTN), at IPB International Convention Center, Bogor on September 23-25, 2019.

Vice Rector for Cooperation and Information System of IPB University, Prof. Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat who is also the Chairperson of the Indonesian Vice Rector Forum in his remarks said that this meeting will discuss important agendas related to increased publications and citations, increased summer courses, inbound, outbound, and innovation downstreaming .

Related to innovation downstreaming, Prof. Dodik added that IPB University already has 15 outlets of commercialized innovation products including those located at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Jakarta. Regarding publications, Indonesian publications have surged sharply in Asia in the last five years. "This is part of the efforts of the vice-rector's forum in the field of cooperation to encourage efforts to increase publication," said Prof. Dodik.

The Chairperson, Dr. Purwanto Subroto who is also the Head of the Sub-Directorate of Cooperation, the Directorate of Higher Education Institutional Development, the Ministry of Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenristekdikti RI) said that the meeting of vice-Rectors in Indonesia that was held today was the fifth meeting. "The Vice Rector Forum initiated in 2015 is expected to be able to synergize various ideas, ideas, and policy directions going forward.

The Vice-Rector Forum in Indonesia was once held in Makassar, Ambon, Semarang and Palembang. Many benefits resulted from this meeting. We try to synergize the existing policies. This forum is expected to produce inputs for future collaboration development, "said Dr. Purwanto.

The Rector of IPB University, Dr. Arif Satria in the meeting of the Vice Rector Forum in Indonesia also gave direction. The Rector of IPB University said that this forum was important in an effort to build optimism, so that big ideas would be present. "Great energy appears so that it will give birth to ideas beyond expectations. At present we are not only a triple helix collaboration but multiple helix collaborations. Hopefully this meeting will produce something concrete, "said the Rector of IPB University. (NR)
