IPB University Students Teach Waste Sorting in Cikeusik Banten
A group of IPB University students who were doing a Thematic Real Work Lecture (KKN-T) in the Village of Sukaseneng, Cikeusik, Pandeglang, Banten, taught the residents to sort waste. Before the socialization of waste segregation that was held at the Sukaseneng Village Hall last July, they had time to make a Temporary Garbage Disposal (TPS) measuring 2.4 x 1.2 x 0.8 meters.
"We made two TPS boxes. One box for organic waste containers and another for inorganic waste containers. After the TPS was finished, we did socialization to the villagers about how to sort and process solid waste properly," said Dela Angelina, an IPB University student.
At the KKN-T this time, they chose the theme of waste management because based on observations and interviews with village officials and some residents, the lack of TPS facilities made residents accustomed to littering. Trash is dumped in the front yard of the house or washed into the river. (RYS)
