IPB will Build an Entrepreneurship Center Building
IPB University in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenpora RI) seeks to create independent young entrepreneurs to increase the number of entrepreneurs in Indonesia. The plan was proclaimed through the Youth Entrepreneurship Lecture which was held on Thursday (9/5) at Andi Hakim Nasoetion Auditorium, IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor.
In the event, the Rector of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria said the progress of a nation is measured by the extent of the lead of achievement.
According to him, for a country to progress, the lead of achievement must be greater than the need for lead of power and lead of affiliation. "Well, entrepreneurship can be reflected by the high lead of achievement in society. Therefore, if the community's lead of achievement is low, the progress of a nation is also slow. But if the community's lead of achievement is high, this nation can be more advanced, "said Dr. Arif Satria.
Dr. Arif added that one form of lead of achievement is the world of entrepreneurship. Thus, he continued, IPB had a vision to become a technosocio-entrepreneur university as an effort to support the creation of competent entrepreneurs.
"We want to create technosociopreneur, both entrepreneurship in the context of business and social entrepreneurship. "This is important to accelerate the transformation of Indonesian agriculture.” Dr. Arif emphasized that Indonesian agriculture is currently in desperate need of technology, a model of technology implementation and more importantly, a formidable entrepreneur.
To create resilient entrepreneurs, Dr. Arif Satria said it must be created by design not by accident. Therefore, IPB will need to provide facilities for prospective entrepreneurial students with to conduct business training, business classes and business incubation.
"Now we have to create entrepreneurship by design since the student started entering IPB, then we have to do talent mapping, involve them in a lot of training and business schools. Soon, IPB will build a building called the entrepreneurship center building, "said Dr. Arif.
Meanwhile, Deputy for Youth Development, Kemenpora RI, Dr. Asrorun Ni'am Sholih, MA said that the Ministry of Youth and Sports is currently working to develop the interest of young people in entrepreneurship. "This youth entrepreneurship lecture activity is one of the initiatives in an effort to develop entrepreneurial interests and talents among young people. Why entrepreneurial interest? Because we want the demographic bonus of 2015 to 2035 to be one of the pillars for national independence," Asrorun said.
Asrorun continued, one of the keys in building national independence is independence in the economic field. The initiative in the development of economic independence is the growth of entrepreneurship from young people. Therefore, continued Asrorun, Kemenpora fully supports novice entrepreneurs among youth by providing funding assistance. The funding assistance is intended so that novice entrepreneurs can continue to be enthusiastic in pursuing their business.
